Film Literature Options
Option 1: Part A. Continue Writing Film Reviews, one per film seen.
Part B. Final Project: Present at the final exam a PowerPoint project on your research on a famous film star, director, producer, type or style of film.
OR
Option 2: Part A. 6 to 8 page (DS, 12 point) research paper on a film star of your choice;
Part B. A poster project displaying images of the film star and their films, presented at the final exam period.
Either way, your entire year’s worth of reviews and reports are due at the final exam, in a three ring binder.

Format
Your final first quarter paper is a revision of one of the reviews
you write this quarter on one of the films seen during the first nine
weeks
of the course.
Week 1: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea 1916
Week 2: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde 1920
Week 3: The Lost World 1925
Week 4: Metrololis 1927
Week 5: Frankenstein 1931
Week 6: The Mummy 1932
Week 7: The Invisible Man 1933
Week 8: The Bride of Frankenstein 1935
Week 9 Flash Gordon: Space Soldiers 1936
Format: 12 or 14 point Times or New York font. Double Spaced. Includes in the text information about the film (director, actors, producer, etc.) plus your remarks about the importance or value of the film, your opinion about what you saw, and any other information that you can give about its historical importance or its overall impact on science fiction cinema. You must also include your earlier draft with the final review. The earlier draft must be attached with corrections clearly indicated. All final reviews must have the earlier draft attached to the final paper to be graded.
The final paper accounts for 30% of your quarter grade. It will be graded Content over Mechanics.
Also for grading purposes you must turn in your notebook with all reviews of the films viewed. Plus notes. This accounts for 50% of your grade. The other 20% will be a participation grade based on your interaction in the classroom.
