Mendocino USD

Mendocino Unified School District is home to three of the few remaining "one room" schoolhouses in California. While each of our three small schools has more than one room, they are very small schools in rural communities. These community-based schools are located in the outer reaches of the district in order to keep younger students nearer their homes (and to avoid the long bus rides which traveling to Mendocino would require).   

The small schools are Greenwood School in Elk, CA, Comptche School in Comptche, CA, and Albion School in Albion, CA.  At present, these schools offer instruction in grades K-3.
